School Schedule 2017-18

Capital City Ballet offers a complete focused program of classical ballet for ages three through adult, taught by teachers with expertise as former professional ballet dancers and years of teaching experience. Studying ballet is more than just an activity, it is a physically and artistically enriching challenge for every student from our beginning through pre-professional levels. We believe that ballet dancers are both artists and athletes, and teaching dance is an educational endeavor. Class sizes are limited to guarantee personal attention and progress, with teachers working as a team with parents and students to impart a level of expertise for ballet in an environment that is both nurturing and disciplined while focused on developing the full potential of each individual student.


Open Division

Teen/Adult Ballet: Wednesday 6:30-8 pm

High School Ballet for Football Players: Saturday 4:30-5:30 pm

Lower Division

Ballet 3-5 years old: Saturday 3:30-4:15 pm

Ballet 6-8 years old: Saturday 2:30-3:30 pm

Creative Ballet (3-4 years old): Monday 10:30-11:15 am, or

                   Wednesday 1:15-2:00 pm

Kinderdance (5-6 years old): Monday 9:30-10:30 am, or

                  Thursday 1:30-2:30 pm

Preclassical 1st and Kinderdance: Monday 4:30-5:30 pm

Preclassical 1st and 2nd : Wednesday 5:30-6:30 pm

Preclassical 2nd and 3rd: Friday 6:15-7:15 pm 

Homeschool Ballet 5-8 years old: Friday 11:00 am-12:00 pm

Middle Division

Homeschool Ballet 9-12 years old Friday 10:00-11:00 am

Preparatory 1: Monday 5:30-6:45 pm 

Preparatory 2: Tuesday 5:30-7:00 pm 

Preparatory 3: Tuesday and Thursday 5:30-7:00 pm

Boys Ballet: Friday 7:15-8:15 pm

Upper Division

Intermediate Ballet: Tuesday and Thursday 4:00-5:30 pm with the option of the following pointe level with placement.

Beginning and Pre-Pointe: Friday 5:00-6:15 pm

Intermediate Pointe: Friday 4:00-5:15 pm

Advanced Ballet: Monday 6:45-8:15 pm, Tuesday 7:00:8:30 pm, Wednesday 4:00-5:30 pm, and Thursday 7:00-8:30 pm with the girls on pointe T & Th.


Youth Company

Monday rehearsal from 8:15-8:45 pm after Advanced class.

Pre-Professional Saturday Class: 9:30-11 am

Saturday rehearsal 11-2 pm


Vacation days 2017-18:

Labor Day, November 20-25, December 22-January 5, Martin Luther King Day (with the exception of youth company rehearsal), President's Day, and March 26-31. During the summer session, we will be closed on the 4th of July.


Snow Days: When Boise and Meridian School Districts close due to hazardous winter road conditions, Capital City Ballet Center will also observe the snow day and cancel classes.


Dress Code:

Girl's leotards, pink tights, skirts, and pink ballet shoes are available for sale at the studio. Skirts are optional. Please purchase your dancewear in advance of the first class. Lower Division: Light blue leotard without a skirt attached, pink ballet shoes, and pink tights. Skirts are optional. Hair must be worn away from the face with long hair secured in ponytail or bun. Boys wear black sweat pants, white shirt, and black ballet shoes.

Middle division: Navy blue leotard of any style, waist elastic, pink tights, and pink shoes. Skirts optional to be worn only for the center portion of class. Hair must be secured away from the face and off of the neck of the dancers in a bun if possible. Boys wear black tights, white shirt, and black ballet shoes.

Upper Division: Navy or Black leotard in any style, pink tights, and pink shoes. Skirts optional to be worn only for the center portion of class. Hair must be in a bun. Boys wear black tights, white shirt, white socks, and white ballet shoes.

Monday 5-6 pm Pointe Level A (Beginning and Prepointe) recommended for students finishing Preparatory 3 and Intermediates who are 10 1/2 or older (or by invitation) 
6-7:30 pm  Ballet  9-13 years old for continuing students (or CCBC students finishing Preparatory 1 through 3)
7:30-8:30 pm Beginning Adult Ballet
Tuesday 5-6:30 pm Intermediate and Advanced Ballet
6:30-7:30 pm  Pilates Mat Class ages 11-adult no prior dance training necessary
7:30-8:30 pm  Ballet 9-13 years old new or continuing students
Wednesday 4:30-5:30 pm Contemporary for ages 11-adult with dance training
5:30-6:30 pm Ballet 6-8 years old for new students (or CCBC students finishing Preclassical 1st and 2nd levels)

6:30-8 pm Intermediate Adult Ballet
